What's So Special?,
by Mom of Four Sons, 2009-01-03

We just received our XBOX 360 at Christmas. I finally was able to get on it with no kids vying for the system, so I decided to give Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts a shot. I enjoyed playing the older versions, so I thought I would just love this game also.

The writing is so small that I couldn't even get the true directions for the games as it raced by on the screen. I am a fast reader, yet I couldn't even start to understand how to play. I did have my seven year old within earshot to help me out if needed.

The beginning car was easy to work, and I ended up getting through the first two levels with not a whole lot of problems. The side games were fun, and the traveling between the worlds was not difficult at all.

My frustration happened when I ran out of places to go. I found one mini-type game that required for me to have a passenger seat in my vehicle. I took my car into the shop and failed at getting a passenger seat put on. So, I decided to go forward and try to just play around in the worlds. I had trouble finding anything to do. I got very bored and a little nauseous from the camera that followed me around.

We also purchased the guide book. Unlike the Mario guidebooks that I had with my Nintendo system, this guidebook didn't guide me. It gave me a lot of information, but it didn't help me get unstuck in my quest to find something to do. Overall, it was a disappointment for this old chick who loves video games. I wasn't impressed with the games or my experience on the 360. I do hope other games deliver a "special" experience.

Soo Disapointing!!,

I am a big Banjo Kazooie fan. I could not believe that a new one was finally coming out. When the first one came out it got me interested in playing video games again. I was so filled with anticipation to play this game. Wow what a let down. This game sucks so bad! It is NOT a platform game. It has none of the classic fun game play or story. You have to build cars and drive them. If I wanted a driving game I would have bought one. As driving games go it is still horrible. There are so many things wrong with this game. Even the font and size of the text that they used was unreadable and then they went so fast it was impossible to read. I am very angry and frustrated as a fan they really messed this up. Don't buy it or if you must wait until it ends up in the $5 bin.

This game is a major disappointment,
by M. Lampen, 2008-12-16

As a fan of previous Banjo Kazooie games I had hoped that the newest sequel would be as good as its predecessors if not better considering the console upgrade. However, I was sadly disappointed seeing as this game sucks.
The vehicles handle terribly and the overall gameplay leaves much to be desired. The story is weak and it seems as if the developers have completely run out of ideas. The new characters are stupid and annoying and do nothing but cause irritation to the gamer.
All characters from previous games are revamped in pointless roles that do nothing but slow down the plot, of which there is very little.
The biggest shortcoming is the vehicle based gameplay. I see no reason why the game departs from the previous platform based gaming. It's very easy to beat the game without putting any thought into vehicle building and the variety of parts available range from not functional to downright unuseful.
Overall, this game is a waste of money and no one should ever buy it. Even fans of previous games will be disappointed as I was.

Tight,

I like this game because it was a game mode that I've never played before, it was based off creating vehicles. I truely have never seen a game before that has this much vehicle engineering creatavity. This game has a great amount of creatativity.

For anyone who loves to design.,

This games is something that "rarely" happens in the world of gaming. most games promise you that you can do anything you wish in their game, but Nuts and Bolts delivers with and honest physics engine that actually makes your vehicles react the way that gravity and momentum would in most cases actually work. the designer is simple being able to make vehicles from scratch by slapping parts together much like legos or start with a chassis and then customize it or take a vehicle already done and work on it. after reading the other reviews i want to point out that the leisure is still there it just takes place outside of challenges there are still switches that can give you extra jiggies with out going in to worlds and there is the hunts for the parts boxes and the notes. great game strongly recommend!!
