do not buy,
by Jeremy Loveshe, 2009-01-03
do not buy this game unless you enjoy purchasing replacement remotes.( because it is so f*@$ing frustarting) i have never in all of my years of game play been so disgusted with a game. you can't keep the car on the road, you can't earn new cars till you win but you can't win if you can't keep the car on the road. there are no cheats, nothing. the only fun i have with this game is just going backwards on the track and headon crashing the other cars.so in summation if you hate someone with all your hearts this is the perfect game for them otherwise the worst thing i've ever seen
p.s. 1 star because i have to i meant it to be no stars
Definitely a challenge,
by Eastnortheast, 2009-01-03
As the name indicates, this game is a challenge. Even in the arcade mode, it is very difficult (at least for me!) to finish anywhere but last. Although, I have not played it much, I can definitely see where this game could keep me occupied.
Use of the Wii wheel or controller and nunchuck are hard to master with this game.
Frustrating Game for a kid,
by Leo, 2008-10-28
My 6 year-old begged for this game, but it has proven to be very difficult for him to play. My husband, who is usually great at all other driving type video games, even finds this one to be challenging. My husband describes it as an "OK" game but definetely not great. Also, only one person can play. My 6 year old generally ends up in tears b/c it is just too frustrating. My 10 year old played it once and has never played again. For a good fun racing type game, my family LOVES mario kart. Everyone can play Mario Kart and have fun.
Rent first....then decide.,

Wow. Excellent graphics... if you're coming off an Atari 2600. I played this game on my 61" 1080p dlp but everything looked blocky in the distance. Physics are good, but poor graphics and the lack of any bass (sounded like I was driving a Yugo, even with an Onkyo 705 7.1 speaker system) killed it for me. Good thing it was a blockbuster rental.
The only sim racing title for Wii (as of Sept. 2008),
by O.S., 2008-09-04
If you want something more realistic than Mario Kart, then this game is for you. I was pleasantly surprised by the physics engine of this game. Having played Grand Prix titles on PC as well as GTR/GTR 2, I had high expectations for the Ferrari game and it did not disappoint. The game further offers a nice variety of game modes. You will need to unlock most of the content and I personally liked the challenge. The AI is rather tough. The Homestead race was difficult even on the Beginner level of difficulty (1 of the 4 Arcade races). Beating lap records so far has been a challenge as well. My best Monza (first race track in the game) time is 1:53 which is 2 seconds slower than the lap record. Overall the game is a lot of fun and has a good lasting appeal. There are three reasons why I could not give the game 5 stars overall:
1) The graphics are nice given Wii standards, but you can't help noticing crude textures. The framerate is really good; but it may drop rarely (typically when you need it most). Still, I have to admit that 8-9 years ago PC graphics were already better. I do use HDTV Component cables, by the way.
2) The manual says that the game has video options. Apparently, it does not!
3) The game support Wii motion controls (aka Mario Kart) but I found Wiimote arrows much more precise than tilting the Wiimote.
Given that this is the only solid sim racing title for Wii, I highly recommend it.
