Best I've tried,
by B. Barton, 2009-01-07

I bought this wireless headset for the ps3 as a replacement for a plantronics headset that I didn't care for. The Ps3 one improves on charge life and sound quality compared to the other model I tried as well as featuring an easy to use mute function.
It feels comfortable in your ear and works well, what more could you want.

It's ok,

The headset itself is fine. Its easy to set up and is reasonably comfortable. The problem with gaming is that most people have crapy headsets, so while you are heard clearly, you can barley hear anybody else.

Terrific headset,

I got this headset in the Socom game bundle for my son, and he loves it.
He charged it before setup, and said it was very easy to install. I bought it because I know he games online, but he is using it as his primary headset to take all of his cell calls.
The sound quality is amazing both incoming and outgoing, and the battery life is great. The charging stand and cable were included in the package.
He likes this better than any bluetooth headset he has ever used. (even the Jawbone)

Simple and cheap solution for the "feels loose" problem.,

Grab a set of old earbuds that you have lying around the house somewhere and pull off the little foam covering from one of the earpieces. (If you don't have one, just buy the replacement foamies from WalMart or Target for a buck or so). Wrap it onto the earpiece of your official Sony headset and voila, it now fits snugly, there's less play/movement, and you feel much more confident that it will not unseat from the inside of your ear. It's arguably more comfortable as well since the rubber ring on the headset doesn't directly touch your inner ear. The unit itself works great- sound and voice recognition functions are fantastic. Very happy with this headset.

It took Sony to make a Quality Headset,
by D. Spino, 2009-01-02

I got the headset with Socom and its something ive been wanting since they first introduced it. Right from the get go you can notice how differnt this headset is from your standard ones.

1 Is the synching with ps3 is seamless! You plug it in and the PS3 notices it just like a controller, things are all set up for you and its basically intregrated into the ps3 itself. The ps3 will pop up "new headset is connected" and your done, nothing more, no codes, no nothing it was amazing.

2 Like i said it works with the PS3 as if its intregrated. When you turn the volume up or down it shows up on the PS3 screen in the mesage window, when the battery is low your ps3 will warn you instead of the thing contintly beeping in your ear, and everything works on the screen which is amazing. Another thing is how games work with it. For example Socom, it "rings" when someone pushes the button to talk and it "rings" when you push the button to talk almost like a walky talkie. Games are actually using the headset to work in depth with the game with differnt features, and other headsets cannot do this.

3 The quality itself is pretty astounding. Reading up on it, the dual mic system is supposedto allow you to speak clearly and cut down on background noise. The speaking clearly part is remarkable, never had anyone say "what did you say" and my commands work like a charm in games. I notice other people using it too and we communicate like we are talking in person, but when someone is using another headset its a bit static and hard to understand. The background noise is still an issue at times though, it picks up my game noises (partly due to my surround sound) and people talking about in my house at times. The good thing is i was capable of turning the mic down to 1 in the ps3 settings and cut this stuff out and still have good voice reconization.

Finally the best part of the mic is the other people talking and the compfort. I can hear others clearly, didnt need to turn the mic up at all and when i do really does get louder instead of a faint differnce. This is key for online games. Another thing is the "in ear" part of it makes the headset so compfortable i forget im wearing it half the time. The adjustable ear peice is also very usefull and allows you to wear it on either ear.

Ive dropped it several times, switched ears, and used differnt ear peices and everything still works it still charges etc... Very high end quality, something you would probably pay over 100 bucks for if it was for a cell phone, and it can be but you get the point. Sony has really made the first GAMER blue tooth headset and im a very proud owner of this fine piece of equipment.

I think every PS3 gamer should have one and sony should even bundle it with ps3 systems so everyone has a mic online. I also would believe sony will be coming out with new designs in the future.
